Dressed In His Finest
The all too brief summer, in Franconia Notch, is glorious. While the altitude makes temperatures moderate, there is nothing moderate about the vistas wherever one looks. Particularly impressive in his green mantle, The Old Man watched, from his lofty perch, for the occasional passing peregrine falcon or perhaps, for the many busloads of tourists who came every year. His passing was felt by all on 5/3/2003.
